Meet Dr. Mike Pesato
Hello everyone! My name is Mike Pesato and, although originally from Ohio, I’m proud to call the Mid-Atlantic home. After graduating from Mississippi State University in 2015 with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, I completed an internship and residency at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in the Section of Field Service. In 2019, I became board certified with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Food Animal Practice). While at the University of Pennsylvania, I founded the Small Ruminant Wellness Program and received numerous teaching accolades. In 2020, I became an Assistant Clinical Professor of Food Animal Medicine and Surgery at Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. For three years, my job was to build onto the food animal ambulatory service while teaching undergraduate and veterinary students. I received the Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award in 2023 and established veterinary care for underserved areas in both Mississippi and Alabama.
It is my mission to bring my experience as an educator and clinician to the state of Delaware, eastern Maryland, southern Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey. I want to teach you how to take care of your animals while providing you with the veterinary service you deserve. Let me become a member of your care team and work to make the lives of both you and your animals better!
